This shape was one of the original ‘wine friendly’ glasses designed by 9th generation Claus J. RIEDEL. The wide tulip shape and slightly flared lip highlights the irresistible sweetness, whilst perfectly balancing the acidity and deemphasizing the alcohol, to create a perfect picture of the wine.

The Champagne Wine Glass is perfect for developing and displaying champagne’s complex characteristics.
This glass allows the wide range of aromatics to unfold. Unlike a flute, the egg-shaped design allows the complex layers to grow and intensify, and the larger rim diameter enables them to be released in a way which is not achieved with a narrow glass. The glass also includes a ‘sparkling point’ to aid the formation of the Champagne bubbles.

RIEDEL released a new glass shape for this aromatic white wine to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the very first Sauvignon Blanc glass. We collaborated with various wine regions to design a glass suitable for the variety’s evolving New World style, balancing fruit, freshness, and minerality.
